Nathan Chong is a 2020 C with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Fullerton, CA who attends Fullerton Union HS. Large frame with broad shoulders and a solid build. Primary catcher with a low, slightly side set stance while receiving. Gains ground while working out of crouched with sound footwork. Clean, quick exchanges while working through transfer and released from a compact three-quarters arm slot. Throws generated on line carry to the bag topping at 74 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.10. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Direct path to baseball with a slightly lifted plane through extension. Looked to lift the baseball with intent and drive the baseball between the gaps. Ball jumped off the barrel well producing loud carry when on time and squared. Outstanding student. Named to the 2017 California Underclass Showcase, Top Prospect List.
