Mac Horvath is a 2020 SS/RHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Rochester, MN who attends Century High School. Large, athletic frame with young look, lean and projectable build with square shoulders and long limbs, room to fill throughout. Ran a 6.64 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, stays under control with footwork and shows athleticism to actions, will continue to refine with reps, ball comes out clean with low effort and solid carry across, balanced when charging in. Also pitched, balanced with rhythm on the mound, full arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Creates big extension down the mound, slight cross body release and able to generate life to fastball when down in zone, topped out at 89 mph. Can challenge and miss bats with fastball, shows present command and will continue to refine. Flashed short curveball at 69 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Utilizes a toe tap trigger to get on line with stride into contact, line drive swing plane through the zone and consistently found the barrel in batting practice and in live action. Full swing path through the zone and shows leverage off the barrel, occasionally gets uphill with plane, projects very well with physical strength and legitimate two-way prospect at the next level. Named to Junior National Top Prospect List. Good student.
