Payton Gross is a 2018 C/1B with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Park City, UT who attends Park City HS. Tall and lanky athletic build, plenty of room to add weight and get stronger. Hits from a straight stance with a short shift into contact, short and compact swing with a inside swing path, chokes up on the bat a bit for better barrel control, mid field to opposite field orientation, has the build to create more leverage and pop in his swing if he wants to. 7.48 runner, has some athleticism behind the plate with good shifting and a low flexible set, simple exchange and release from a compact arm action, makes accurate throws and repeats his mechanics. Should continue to improve as he gets stronger. Good student.
