2017 South Top Prospect Showcase
Peyton Zachry is a 2018 LHP/OF with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Anderson HS. Large frame with long limbs and an athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Primary left handed pitcher with a smooth side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall and balanced on back side at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters slot. Worked over front side well at released generated good downhill tilt through the zone. Fastball had solid run to arm side in the low to mid 80's, topped at 85 miles per hour. Good feel for a curveball offering that had 2/7 shape with tight spin and solid depth in the mid 70's. Aggressive demeanor while on the mound looked to attack hitters with both pitches. Showed the feel for both fastball and curveball to work to each edge of the plate in positive and negative counts. Good student. Named to the 2017 South Top Prospect Showcase, Top Prospect List.
