2017 PG Top Prospect Games at TCU
Dalton Mall is a 2018 RHP with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Overland Park, KS who attends Shawnee Mission East High School. Extra-large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and long limbs, present strength proportioned throughout with additional room to fill. Primary righthanded pitcher, works exclusively out of the stretch with a higher leg lift up past belt, strides on line down the mound with steady tempo throughout delivery. Full arm action through the back side working to an extended three-quarters release point; gets on top of the ball out front and generates nice plane with heavy life down in the zone. Occasionally gets mistimed at release, fastball comes out clean and topped out at 90 mph, gets on top of hitters quickly and induced weak contact off the barrel. Clean arm action and shows confidence in throwing slider for strikes in any count. Spins it hard, up to 84 mph with 10-4 shape, lands for strikes consistently. Flashed changeup up to 84 mph as well, hard diving life at times and serves as third pitch presently. Named to PG Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List. Very good student.
