Jack Hattrup is a 2019 LHP/1B with a 6-4 187 lb. frame from Plano, TX who attends Plano West Senior. Large build with long limbs, tall, lean and highly projectable frame with limitless room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.54 second 60 yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, simple side step to a high leg lift, full arm action up to an over the top arm slot, stays tall on backside with good back leg drive down mound, struggles to get out over front foot at times. Three pitch mix, fastball is mostly straight, good field for curveball and changeup, curveball has 12-to-6 shape, changeup projects really well coming from same tunnel as fastball with good dive downward. Also took reps at first base, fluidity at the position with smooth hands, playable arm strength topping out at 82 mph with accuracy to the bag. Lefthanded hitter, even stance, small stride forward into swing, short and compact swing, flashes some bat speed when turning to pull, line drive hitter from line to line getting the barrel head out in front well, good barrel feel projecting for power with added strength. Good student. Named to 2018 National Underclass East Top Prospect List.
