Pedro Pablo Martínez is a 2018 SS/3B with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Davie, FL who attends New Horizon Academy. Large frame, lean, slender build, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front, glove and hands play well out fielding the ball, clean transfers through transitions, balance to actions charging in, shows a loose arm action and ball comes out clean and with present arm strength from a higher release point. Righthanded hitter, begins with a balanced and straight stance in the box, high back elbow at the plate. Uses a leg lift trigger for timing, shifts weight on line well, patient approach in the box. Aggressive wing and looks to create lift at point of contact, naturally lofted swing plane through the zone. Long and loose path to the ball, shows nice carry and jump off barrel when on time and can work to the opposite field too. Very good student.
