David Pagan is a 2019 C/MIF/OF with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Richmond, TX who attends William B Travis HS. Compact frame with an athletic build and room to fill out. Ran a 7.01 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. Sets up in a wide side straddle stance. Explosive coming out with a very quick transfer. Throws from a compact slot and keeps throws low and around the bag. Throws topping out at 77 miles per hour and popping a 1.96 during workouts. Also worked out as a secondary infielder. Gets around the ball and maintains direction to the bag. Fields out front with a soft glove. Shows range when moving up the middle. Can manipulate slots when charging the ball. Also worked out from the outfield. Smooth actions to and through the ball. Shows stiff carry to the infield with online throws topping out at 86 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with an open stance. Aggressive hitter with a long swing and good timing. Middle of the field approach with some lift to the gaps. Fluid swing with developing jump off the bat. Good student as well. Named to the 2018 South Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
