Jacob Deason is a 2020 OF/ with a 5-9 148 lb. frame from Alachua, FL who attends Santa Fe. Small build, skinny and young frame with room to grow and time to do so. Ran a 7.19 second 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, waits back on ball, comes through ball reading hops well with athletic actions, clean exchange with a quick release getting the ball out of hand, developing arm strength at this time that should improve with growth. Righthanded hitter, narrow base with an even stance, leg lift trigger into swing, short hand path to baseball, balance in swing with a line drive swing plane, could work on getting more extended through the point of contact, good feel for the barrel just needs to get stronger for added pop off of the barrel. Excellent student.
