Matt Heiman is a 2019 LHP/OF with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Pinehurst, NC who attends Pinecrest HS. Recorded a 7.43 second 60-yard dash time. Lean and athletic build with a more compact frame and room for physical development. Primary lefthanded pitcher who works exclusively from the stretch with a short and compact delivery. Very repeatable with few moving parts and stays tall on the backside. Good push off the lower half with a loose and quick arm action. Good rhythm and tempo with good line and direction toward the plate. Crafty lefty who knows how to pitch. Deceptive delivery and hides the ball well. Good command of the fastball and fills up the zone to both sides of the plate. Three-quarter arm slot and can create good life on the pitch. Mixes pitches well and keeps hitters guessing. Curveball has tight 3/8 action with late depth and bite. Changeup has good fade to the arm side and is not afraid to throw any of his pitches in any count. Athletic on the mound and can field his position. Excellent student.
