Gregory Carullo is a 2020 C/RHP, 3B with a 5-10 195 lb. frame from Dix Hills, NY who attends Commack. Medium frame with broad shoulders and a strong build. Primary catcher with a low, side set stance while receiving. Gains ground while working out of crouch with heel click lower half actions. Tends to carry weight to glove side while releasing from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced uphill carry to the bag topping at 69 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.17. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and simple front side trigger. Coils hands at load and works to contact with linear lower half actions. Loose path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Flashed the bat speed to turn bat head to contact and create sharp contact to pull side. Consistently looked to attack the bottom half of the baseball and create lift to the middle of the field and pull side gap. Also pitched utilizing a compact rock step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and utilized lower half well while working to the plate. Released from an extended three-quarters arm slot creating good arm side run with slight sink in the mid 70's, topped at 77 miles per hour. Curveball had 10/4 shape with solid spin and late depth in the upper 60's. Consistently looked to challenge hitters and flashed good feel for curveball down in the zone. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Good student as well.
