Joshua Cohen is a 2018 RHP/3B, 1B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Oakland, NJ who attends Indian Hills. Medium, broad shouldered frame with present strength to build and has additional room to fill out. Primary righthanded pitcher, up-tempo delivery and works to balance point swing. Begins with a rock step and hick leg kick before slight pause at top of delivery, works to an extended three-quarters arm slot with an across body finish. Throws strikes with the fastball, topped out at 82 mph and showed running life to arm side when located down in the zone. Will continue to refine mechanics with repetitions, worked mostly off fastball, flashed a changeup at 64 mph, slows arm speed some at release but shows fading life to pitch. Fields the ball out front in infield, long strides to backhand with an extra step at release, nice carry to throws when on top of ball. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a crouched stance in the box with a high hand set and high back elbow. Small leg lift trigger, hands stay close to body with line drive swing plane, occasional lift to swing. Gets out front at times but can turn on inner half pitch.
