Ramon Cordero is a 2018 C/UT with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Venice, FL who attends Venice Senior HS. Strong and physical frame with broad shoulders and well-proportioned strength throughout the build. Primary catcher with very good, raw arm strength; recorded up to 80 mph and a lowest pop time of 1.91 seconds to second base. Short arm in the back and gains ground well. Arm whips across with some explosiveness throughout. Righthanded hitter with a high hand set and high back elbow. Very balanced initial set up with good fluidity throughout the swing path. Creates loud jump off the barrel, exit velocity up to 85 mph, with a strong gap-to-gap power approach. Flashed good bat speed through the point of contact with very active hands into the swing. Strength through the point of contact and looking to drive the ball hard up the middle. Named to the 2017 Florida Top Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student.
