Trey Bostic is a 2018 RHP/2B with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Waxahachie, TX who attends Midlothian Heritage High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame with additional room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.27 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins delivery with a belt high leg raise, fluid mechanics overall with a clean takeaway, does a nice job of keeping rhythm and timing in sync. Works to a three-quarters release point with pitched, gets on top of the ball and generates downhill plane to the bottom half of the strike zone. Topped out at 83 mph, mostly true in life but able to induce consistent ground ball contact from angle. Curveball showed 11-5 shape up to 70 mph, picked up some swings and misses with the pitch; short fade to changeup at 75 mph. Showed soft hands in the infield, simple mechanics and repeats, ball comes out of hand well and shows body control to actions. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Utilizes a toe tap trigger at start of swing, occasionally gets on to front side early in swing. Full swing path through the zone and did a nice job of getting the barrel to the ball, worked the pull side with comfort. Line drive approach in the box with a linear stroke. Good student.
