Mitchell Szczygiel is a 2020 RHP/3B/OF with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Frisco, TX who attends Centennial HS. Young athletic build, some present strength and very projectable physically. Back turn delivery on the mound, uses his lower half and his athleticism well in his delivery, high 3/4's arm slot, will drift occasionally but mostly on time with his arm. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, has good downhill plane, mostly straight. Curveball is his best pitch, gets tight spin and big depth, drops it in for strikes with feel. Rare change up had nice fading action. May be a better position prospect, has a smooth and quick left handed swing with some lift in it, can turn on the ball and drive it, uses lower half very well to create bat speed, excellent game at-bats with consistent hard contact. 7.06 runner, has athletic actions in the outfield with good arm strength, would like to see him play more in the infield. Very good student.
