James McCann is a 2018 RHP with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Ridgefield, CT who attends Ridgefield High School. Medium, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout frame. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins delivery with a big rock step working into a high leg kick with a slight coil at top of balance point. Stays tall on the back side before driving towards the plate with solid directionality and nice utilization of lower half. Works to a tight three-quarters arm action and creates downhill plane to fastball that topped out at 77 mph with command of the zone. Maintains tempo and rhythm to delivery, pitches to both sides of the plate with fastball and maintains nice arm speed on curveball, shows late depth with 11-5 shape at 69 mph. Also threw a straight changeup at 68 mph with short fading action and similar arm speed helping to create deception. Very good student.
