Jake Miller is a 2019 C/3B with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Marblehead, MA who attends St John's Preparatory. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a young look overall, projects nicely with additional room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.00 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, receives the ball out front, shows a compact arm action through the back and works to a tight release point, short arm action at release, gets ball out of glove well, comes out of the crouch and gains ground with lower half, accuracy to throws, will continue to develop with physical strength. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even stance in the box and a medium hand set. Uses a leg kick trigger at start of swing for timing, show quickness to hands with a linear swing plane through the zone. Contact approach at the plate, full swing through the zone with feel for the barrel, able to work all fields. Very good student.
