Grant Fanara is a 2017 C/MIF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Brownwood, TX who attends Brownwood HS. Fanara has a medium sized frame with some strength. He starts with a side saddle set up on his pop throws and has a high set up. He stands to throw and he has a short arm action. Fanara has clean transfers and release with solid receiving skills behind the plate. At the plate he starts with a slightly open stance with a hands back load. He uses a no stride approach and stays tall on his backside. Fanara swings on a line drive plane and has a rotational swing. He has some strength in his swing and has bat speed. Fanara has solid hitting tools to work with and could really improve with a few adjustments. Very good runner for a catcher with 6.94 speed. Excellent student.
