Joseph Carbone is a 2019 LHP/1B with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends Cypress Christian HS. Lean athletic build, young look, projects well physically. High energy delivery with an over the top arm slot, lots of variables in his mechanics although he showed the ability to make adjustments. Steady low 80's fastball, gets some arm side running life when he's in the zone and on time with it. Curveball has good power and spin and will flashed tight 1/7 bite. Showed athleticism fielding his position. 6.92 runner, shows his athleticism well in the outfield, has good arm strength, quick feet to the ball, made a very nice running over the shoulder game catch, also has very athletic and smooth actions defensively at first base. Left handed hitter, open stance with a downward exaggerated inside swing path, opposite field contact. Delivery on the mound may be holding back the arm strength he showed in the field, very good overall athlete. Good student.
