Ryne Godbey is a 2020 C/1B with a 5-10 148 lb. frame from Whitewright, TX who attends Whitewright HS. Godbey has a medium sized frame with a lean young build. Defensively he showed a quick release on his pop throws with good fundamentals for a 2020 grad. He showed accurate throws and projectable catch and throw tools. Godbey showed developing receiving and blocking tools in the game. At the plate he starts with an open stance and has a rotational approach. Godbey showed some occasional looseness and made solid barrel contact when timed. He has developing bat speed and has a line drive approach. Godbey is an interesting young player with solid fundamentals. Excellent student.
