Ryan Anderson is a 2007 LHP/OF/1B from Venice HS in Venice, FL, with a 5'11'', 170 lb. frame that hasn't started to get strong yet. He has wide shoulders and projects to get stronger. He throws from a balanced delivery with good direction to the plate. His 79 mph fastball has good sinking action at the plate and some left hander's running action. Anderson's 63 mph curveball has good velocity compared to his fastball and has some spin and 2-plane break at the plate. Anderson throws strikes and makes hitters swing the bat. As a hitter, Anderson has a patient, calm approach and showed a good ability to center the ball, although he isn't strong enough to drive the ball at present. He has a line drive swing and made solid contact to the opposite field. Anderson is a good runner at 7.25 and threw 78 mph from the outfield, so there looks like there is more arm strength there. He is also a very good student.
