Joe Guzman III is a 2020 OF/RHP with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Arleta, CA who attends John H. Francis Polytechnic. Guzman has a smaller frame with a lean build. Defensively he plays back on the ball in the outfield and has developing arm strength up to 77 MPH. He has a slinging arm action and made accurate throws in the workout. Guzman has clean glove action and clean transfers. At the plate he starts with a slightly open stance with a narrow base. Guzman has a high hand set with a high back elbow. He has a rotational lower half and uses a simple toe tap trigger. Guzman showed quickness to his hands and some bat speed. He showed barrel skills and has a loose swing. Guzman has a middle of the field approach and showed solid young hitting tools. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action and big arm circle in back. He gets some run on his fastball and topped at 75 MPH. Good student.
