Derek Stowers is a 2020 OF/RHP, SS with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Rockwall, TX who attends Rockwall-Heath High School. Very young player with a medium frame and build and room to continue to develop and add strength. Posted a 7.65 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, showed a good first step, long arm action, good carry and raw arm strength. At the plate, started with a tall stance, high hand set, and a leg lift timing mechanism. Finished tall, worked well up to the ball, best contact came to pull side with carry. Would see more consistent contact with additional lower half incorporation. Also pitched, utilized a longer arm action, slight stab, and threw from a three quarter arm slot. Fastball showed slight sinking action at 67-69/71 mph. Curveball showed 11/5 shape with developing sharpness. Fielded position well and let defense work behind him.
