Sam Pierce is a 2021 3B/RHP with a 5-10 190 lb. frame from Grapevine, TX who attends Grapevine HS. Thick build with lots of strength for his age. Left handed hitter, upright narrow stance with a good weight transfer into contact, pull and lift approach, weight stays on his back side with an upper cut swing plane, showed his power well in batting practice and in the game. Playable actions on defense, tends to field the ball close to his body, makes accurate throws with some carry, will have to continue to work on his first step quickness. Also pitched, high 3/4's arm slot with a medium length arm action. Threw strikes with a consistent mid-70's fastball and a soft curveball. Good student.
