Jake Collins is a 2018 C/3B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Littleton, CO who attends Dakota Ridge Senior. Large frame with an athletic build and wiry strength. Ran a 7.44 sixty-yard dash. Primary catcher with a slightly taller, even stance while setting up to receive. Gains ground while working out of crouch to a taller throwing position. Works through transfer with clean glove to hand exchanges. Released from a three-quarters slot producing some carry to the bag topping at 73 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.03. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance. Lower half moves into contact well with linear actions. Inside path to contact with a loose, slightly lifted barrel plane through extension. Showed good balance throughout with the ability to manipulate the barrel and work to all fields. Excellent student.
