Garrett Nishihama is a 2018 OF/MIF, 3B, RHP with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Atwater, CA who attends Buhach Colony. Medium frame with a solid, athletic build. Projects for additional strength throughout frame. Ran a 7.03 sixty yard dash. Primary outfielder, active footwork while closing on the baseball. Two handed pickups while working through baseball into transition. Clean glove to hand exchanges and separates back with a deep arm stab. Throws from a three-quarters arm slot that produces uphill carry to the bag, topped at 72 mph. Right handed hitter with a spread, straight stance and high back elbow stance. Hands and front side load with slight coil. Hands deliever to contact on a quick, extended path. Created a line drive plane with developing path speed. Solid jump of the barrel when working to the pull side gap. Maintains good balance throughout swing that allows for all fields contact when front side trigger is on time. Also pitched showing a simple side step delivery. Medium leg lift at gather while creating a deep arm stab at separation. High energy arm action from a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball comes out of hand fairly clean with downhill angle in the low 70's. Curveball had 11/5 shape with softer spin and some depth in the upper 50's to low 60's. Solid command of fastball and curveball offerings down in the zone. Effectively changes speeds keeping hitters off balance and missing barrels. Very good student as well.
