Jason Porter is a 2017 LHP/UT with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Fayetteville, AR who attends Decatur. Medium-Large frame with athletic, slender build and good projection remaining on body. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.89 seconds. Primary pitcher, shows long arm action through the back up to mid three quarters arm slot, extended release out front, FB worked 65-71 MPH with solid life at the plate. Did a good job working to both sides of the plate; also mixed in CB with 12/6 shape and good depth. Hits from even-based stance with balance at launch, deep hand load, slightly downhill swing path, inside out hand path. Shows solid footwork around the bag at 1st base, fields well with two hands, turns and makes accurate throws to 2B up to 65 MPH. Good student.
