Easton Loyd is a 2020 MIF with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Marshall, TX who attends Hallsville High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room for physical growth moving forward. Primary middle infielder, stays low moving towards the ball and through actions and release nicely, will continue to refine overall footwork, fields the ball out front and shows a clean funnel into body, smooth actions on the turn and quick transfer, accurate throws across the diamond, balanced when charging in. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an upright and closed stance with a high hand set and lower back elbow in the box. Upper body dominant swing, shows a handle for the barrel through the zone and employs a contact oriented approach. Short to the ball and keeps hands inside it, shows comfort working the middle and pull side parts of the field with a linear stroke, went with outer half pitch well in game. Good student.
