Tim Rhyan is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-3 165 lb. frame from El Dorado Hills, CA who attends Oak Ridge HS. Large frame with a lean, athletic build. Plenty of room for additional strength. Right handed pitcher with long, projectable limbs. Lower half open slightly while driving to the plate. Smooth paced rock step delivery with a smooth arm action through extension. Fastball ranged in the upper 70's to low 80's with solid command down in the zone. Curveball has softer spin with occasional depth when located down in the strike zone. Flashed a changeup in the upper 60's that had some fading actions at times. Right handed hitter balanced, straight stance and leg lift trigger. Direct, compact path to contact with a line drive swing plane. Mid-field to opposite field approach. Shows a mature prescence at the plate hitting to pitch location. Worked out defensively from the outfield showing a deep arm stab at separation and releases from a loose, three-quarters arm slot. Throws produce uphill carry with accuracy to the bag. Fundamental foowork while closing on the baseball with clean glove to hand exchanges through transition. Good student as well.
