Grant Evans is a 2019 OF with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Milton, DE who attends Cape Henlopen High School. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and advanced present physical strength proportioned well throughout frame. Primary outfielder, deliberate actions moving towards the ball with short and quick steps, fields it out front and works into a longer arm stroke, gets on top of throws mostly, remains tall at release and can continue to incorporate additional footwork when working through the ball, shows accuracy to the intended base. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow pulled back at start of swing with an even base; shifts weight through lower half moving into contact. Short and direct swing path to the baseball and remains linear through the zone, incorporates physical strength nicely into swing. Generates nice present bat speed and shows occasional lift, will continue to unlock additional pop off the barrel with added leverage but can impact the baseball and shows nice offensive tools to improve upon. Very good student.
