Steven Wyatt Spoon is a 2018 2B/SS with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Conroe, TX who attends Oak Ridge. Large frame with a lean, athletic build and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Ran a 7.57 sixty-yard dash. Primary second baseman with fundamentally sound footwork while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball out front and work through exchange with clean, fluid actions. Flashed the ability to throw from multiple arm slot while on the run, primarily released from a low three-quarters arm slot creating accurate throws to the bag. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and simple front side trigger. Created some coil with top half at load and works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose path to contact with an uphill plane through extension. Primarily utilized a mid field approach but flashed the ability to turn the barrel to contact to create bat speed to the pull side gap. Very good student as well.
