Brett Shapiro is a 2018 OF/ with a 5-9 184 lb. frame from Framingham, MA who attends Framingham. Medium frame with strong present build. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.34 seconds. Leaned back set up when hitting, leans back further into load, shows good looseness to hands through swing, gets barrel out on time with whole-field approach. Shows good ability to get the ball into the air with moderate authority. Works deliberately to the ball in the outfield, fields out front with two hands, extended crow hop and release, throws clocked up to 79 mph. Also pitched, stretch only, collapses downhill somewhat, compact tight arm stroke, good direction to the plate, three quarters slot, fastball worked 76-79 mph with good command. Worked in slider consistently, shorter break, manipulates shape a bit, mostly vertical, good change-of-pace pitch. Good student.
