Bobby Barnard is a 2017 C with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Tolono, IL who attends Unity HS. Small frame, build. Plently of room for additional strength while maintaining athletisim. Right handed hitter with a slightly open stance and leg lift trigger. Loads to a slightly coiled top half position and attacks the baseball. Lower half shows linear mechanics, hips tend to drift forward at times. Has present bat speed and strength for size. Loud contact with barrel skills. Consistently squared contact in BP with a mid-field approach. Worked out defensively from behind the plate. Shows a high set with some bounce. High energy release with a quick loose arm action. Accurate throws to the bag with carry, topped at 77 mph with a best pop of 1.95. Soft hands behind the plate while receiving with solid actions. Nice skill set both at and behind the plate. WIll continue to develop with physical maturity. Good student as well.
