Cy Patterson is a 2021 SS/OF/RHP with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Council Bluffs, IA who attends St. Albert HS. Athletic build with room to fill with maturity. Primary shortstop. Moves well to the ball. Fields the ball with a deeper funnel. Has a long arm action and releases from a three quarters arm slot. Throws had some accurate carry especially when working in rhythm . Worked out from the outfield as well. Athletic and aggressive movements when closing to the ball. Funnels the ball out front and off to the side. Exchanges are quick and gets into a smooth release. Has some online carry to throws. Arm strength should improve. Right handed hitter with an upright and open stance. Loads with a toe tap trigger and hands drop and circle. A lot of movement when loading and drifting to contact. Simple path to contact with a linear barrel plane. Has the ability to stay in the middle of the field as well as hitting the other way. Swings the bat hard and looks to drive the ball. Right handed pitcher with a smooth paced, rocker step delivery. Higher leg kick with good balance at gather. Compact arm circle and releases from a compact three quarters arm slot. Utilizes drop and drive actions to the plate. Fastball stays mostly straight but flashed some occasional arm side run that topped out at 83 miles per hour. Good student as well.
