Zack Medina is a 2019 SS/RHP, C, 2B, 3B, MIF, IF, OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Lone Tree, CO who attends Highlands Ranch. Medium and athletic frame with strength present in his lower half with still more room to fill. Ran a 7.24 second 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, sits back on ball, some effort and shuffles into throws, glove plays. Secondary outfielder, charges hard on the baseball and does a good job of getting his whole body into throws, fields the baseball to the side, arm action is clean and quick, present arm strength with online carry, showed good arm strength from the infield and outfield topping out at 82 mph across the diamond and 85 from the outfield. Also pitched, side rocker step up to a varying leg lift from high to low, mixed windup speeds to mess with hitter's timing, short arm action up to a high 3/4 arm slot, lands open falling towards first base side but arm stays online, mixed a fastball that topped out at 81 mph and a curveball with 12-to-6 shape. Righthanded hitter, wide base with a high hand set to start, short leg lift trigger, developing feel for the barrel, could work more directly to the baseball for more barreled contact, present strength to swing with a pull side approach. Outstanding student. Named to 2018 Rocky Mountain Showcase Top Prospect List.
