Henry Politz is a 2020 C/1B with a 6-2 220 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Tampa Jesuit High School. Extra-large, broad shouldered build with present physical strength proportioned nicely throughout frame. Ran a 7.56 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, lower set up behind the plate with flexibility to actions, receives the ball out front, clean exchange into a tight arm action and release, gets tall out of crouch and can continue to implement additional lower half into release, gets on top of throws and shows present arm strength and carry down to second base. Switch-hitter, shows tools from both sides of the plate. Begins with a slightly open stance from the right side, high and tight hand set with high back elbow at start. Upper body dominant swing, creates whip to barrel through the zone with full swing path, utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing and can impact the ball at point of contact. Shows more present fluidity from left side, full path through the zone, does a nice job of hitting the ball out front, occasionally pulls front side early, gets the barrel to the ball and shows strength. Very good student.
