Josias Ridley is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Oakland, FL who attends Boone HS. Large frame with strong, well-built physical presence. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.30 seconds. Switch-hitter, sets up to hit from right side with spread out stance, inside-out swing path with intent to spray the ball the opposite way with developing strength. A bit stiffer and more rotational from the left side, still shows solid contact ability with projectable feel for the barrel. Fields out front successfully in the IF, makes quick transfer and throws online to 1B up to 71 MPH. Moves well to the ball in the OF and fields cleanly, works through it some and makes consistently accurate throws to target up to 73 MPH. Pitched as well, uses shorter arm action up to high three quarters slot, good direction to the plate, raises hands and front knee in synch in delivery. FB worked 68-73 MPH with slight running life; also mixed in a CB with 11/5 shape and solid spin. Good student.
