Julian Gomeztrejo is a 2018 RHP/1B with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Monrovia, CA who attends Monrovia. Gomeztrejo has a large frame with a projectable lean build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a shorter arm action. Gomeztrejo gets closed at balance point and has a directional delivery. He spins over his frontside some and can get more from his lower half for velocity gains. Gomeztrejo pitched to contact and threw 3 pitches for strikes. He threw a change up at 72 MPH with good sink on it. He threw a curve ball at 65 MPH with 11/5 shape and some tightness to it. At the plate Gomeztrejo starts with an upright open stance with some hand wrap at load. He uses a leg lift trigger and has an inside path to contact. He has some bat speed and a line drive plane. Gomeztrejo showed developing footwork at 1B with some athleticism to his actions. Excellent student.
