Tanner Murray is a 2017 SS/2B/3B with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Ben Lomond, CA who attends San Lorenzo Valley HS. Large frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength. Right handed hitter with an open stance and high back elbow set. Creates some shift into contact with rotational lower half actions. Compact, direct path to contact with a line drive swing plane. Flashed solid barrel control to all parts of the field with a gap to gap approach. Repeats swing well while barreling up contact with developing bat speed. Worked out defensively from the infield showing smooth glove skills while funneling the baseball out front. Clean glove to hand exchanges while working through transition. Athletic actions while ranging to both sides and through slow roller. Loose arm action while throwing across the infield with carry and accuracy, topped at 77 mph. Polished actions throughout defensive workout. Good student as well.
