Garrison Gavin is a 2018 LHP/OF with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Las Vegas, NV who attends Spring Valley. Medium frame with a lean build. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Ran a 7.38 sixty-yard dash. Primary left handed pitcher with a smooth paced, small side step delivery. Stays tall and balanced on back side and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Lands in line with the plate and carries momentum to target. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a mid three-quarters slot. Fastball produced some running action to arm side in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 80 miles per hour. Breaking ball showed proper shape with solid spin and good sweep to glove side in the ow 70's. Also flashed a changeup that hand some wiggle to arm side in the low 70's as well. Consistently filled the zone with fastball and flashed developing feel to work to each edge of the plate. Challenged hitters with each pitch and effectively stayed down in the zone through each inning of work. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth, clean actions while closing to and working through the baseball. Worked over front side well and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Throws generated accurate carry to the bag topping at 82 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with an upright, open stance and large leg lift trigger. Coils hands at load and works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose hand path to contact with a slightly lifted plane through extension. Looks to turn hips to contact and deliver barrel to contact out front. When on time, created some sharp contact to the middle of the field an pull side gap. Good student as well.
