James Geiger is a 2016 LHP/1B with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Redmond, WA who attends Eastlake HS. Tall, lean frame with wiry strength. On the mound shows an overtop release and strides to an open landing position. Three piece, paced delivery. Has a mechanical, repeatable delivery with a compact arm action. Creates good downhill angle with occasional arm side run on fastball ranging from 81-83 mph, topped at 84 mph. Flashed a 12/6 curveball with tight spin that and good depth, topped at 71 mph. Held velocity throughout all innings and shows good raw arm strength. Around the strike zone with both pitches and shows ability to pitch backwards when needed. Arm projects for added velocity and will continue progress with physical development. Very good student as well.
