GT Maggay is a 2019 C/RHP, MIF with a 5-5 180 lb. frame from Columbia, MD who attends Calvert Hall College High School. Young, square shouldered, athletic frame with present strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 7.79 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, lower set behind the plate and gains ground with lower half coming out into release, shows quickness to release with some effort out of hand, gets on top of throws and shows accuracy down to second base, remains accurate on throws from knees, 2.00 best pop time. Also pitched, delivery tempo to delivery with a high leg lift at top of delivery; mixes tempo to disrupt hitter's timing. Fluid mechanics with an easy arm action and three-quarters release, keeps hitters off balance, fastball topped out at 71 mph with occasional cut action and flashed a knuckleball at 68 mph for strikes. Righthanded hitter, begins with a narrow and open stance with a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Utilizes a high leg lift trigger for timing, barrel tilt at start of load. Moving parts to swing and gets front foot down on time, full swing plane through the zone with a shorter path to the ball; occasional lift out front at point of contact. Good student.
