Cody Brick is a 2019 SS/RHP, 3B with a 6-3 230 lb. frame from Catonsville, MD who attends Catonsville High School. Large, athletic build with broad shoulders and plenty of physical strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 5.21 40-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front with some bend to waist, can continue to incorporate lower half into release, gets on top of throws well and shows strength out of hand, takes shorter/quick steps on the charge. Similar short arm action from the outfield with a tight release, fields the ball out front, stays taller at release, around the bag with throws. Also pitched, short side step into a high leg lift above; full arm action through the back working to a high three-quarters release point, drop and drive with lower half down the mound. Fastball topped out at 79 mph, worked on top of the ball well and filled the zone, flashed curveball at 67 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with slightly open and spread stance in the box, medium hand set to start. Subtle weight shift through lower half, remains linear through the zone and looks to turn on the ball to pull side. Occasionally opens front side early, incorporates physical strength well and shows jump off the barrel when squared. Good student.
