Max Samson is a 2019 OF/LHP with a 5-7 135 lb. frame from Seattle, WA who attends O'Dea HS. Medium frame with slender, athletic present build. Good physical projection remaining on frame. Hits with pull-field approach and solid bat speed, maintains balance throughout swing mechanics, barrel flattens out early into line drive plane without any loft, made consistent contact to pull field, hands worked well in swing. Showed smooth actions and footwork in the outfield, getting to the ball well and fielding cleanly, showing quick release with developing arm strength. OF velocity up to 75 MPH. Pitched as well, shows short/quick arm action to 3/4 slot, advanced feel for pitching and sequencing given age. Understands how to change speeds and eye levels. FB worked 68-70 with solid command, showed good feel for slider in mid 60's with tight horizontal break. Mixed and matched both pitches in the strike zone. Very good student.
