Nolan Scelzi is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 6-2 155 lb. frame from Sammamish, WA who attends Skyline HS. Tall and very slender build, lots of room to get stronger. Two-way player who graded out higher as a pitcher at this event. Arm works very well on the mound, simple pitching mechanics with a high 3/4's arm slot, bit cross body on release but creates very good angle. Fastball topped out at 78 mph but lots more velocity in there, mostly straight. Hand position curveball is a bit soft but throw for strikes. Short slider that acts as a cut change up. Projects very well as a pitcher. Showed good athleticism in the outfield, arm works well from the outfield, too, has good footwork and makes accurate throws. Right handed hitter, rotational upper half swing, tends to open his front side early and pull off the ball, uphill swing plane, holds the bat with a golf-style grip. Good student.
