Garrett Jones is a 2016 SS/OF with a 6-0 168 lb. frame from Sulphur Springs, TX who attends Sulphur Springs. Medium, athletic frame with long limbs and a high waist, projectable build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.07 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front and shows good reactions off the bat, has range up the middle with short and quick steps charging in, full arm action with some effort at release, accurate across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, starts with an upright and narrow stance with a high hand set. High leg lift trigger at beginning for timing, upper body swing with a line drive swing path to the ball. Gets the barrel to the ball with the ability to hit to all fields, shows comfort hitting to pull side. Occasionally late getting front foot down, bat speed projects with additional strength. Good student.
