Manny Koliavas is a 2018 LHP/ with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Walnut Creek, CA who attends Las Lomas. Medium frame with an athletic build and beginnings or strength. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary left handed pitcher who worked exclusively from the stretch. Simple leg lift to gather and stay balanced on back side. Worked to the plate with drop and drive actions. Lands in line with the plate and carries momentum well. Deep arm stab at take back and released from a high three-quarters slot. Fastball produced solid downhill angle through the zone with run to arm side in the low to mid 70's, topped at 76 miles per hour. Showed good feel for fastball and consistently worked to the arm side edge of the plate. Curveball had proper shape with good spin and solid depth when maintaining arm speed through extension. Aggressively attacked hitters in all counts and produced weak contact results in quick innings. Right handed hitter with a slightly crouched, even stance and simple front side trigger. Stays on back side and works to contact with rotational actions. Inside path contact with a level plane through extension. Flashed occasional bat speed when on time and primarily worked the baseball to the middle of the field. Good student as ewll.
