2017 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Zach Zdimal is a 2018 RHP/3B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ who attends Notre Dame Prep. Medium athletic build with long arms for his height. Arm action is long and loose, high 3/4's arm slot creates plenty of plane, stays on line well and repeats his mechanics. Mid-80's fastball, topped out at 87 mph, mostly straight with occasional running action. Sweeping mid-70's slider has good depth at times. Showed nice fading action on his change up. Three-pitch right handed starter with good pitchability and the ability to throw strikes with multiple pitches. Has gained velocity this summer and 5-6 mph over the last year. Very good student.
