Ethan Johnson is a 2017 2B/SS, OF, RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Brentwoood, TN who attends Ravenwood HS. Medium, well-proportioned frame with lean, athletic build, has room to fill out. Primary infielder, has solid arm strength and actions, maintains good direction to targets, moves well to his left. Also has ability to play outfield, maintains solid footwork to the ball, has accurate throws to bases. Right handed hitter, slightly open stance with leg kick trigger. Maintains good balance throughout rotational upper-half swing, could use more lower-half in swing mechanics. Also pitches, up-tempo delivery with short step into leg lift, good line to the plate. Uses an overhand arm slot, has some deception and gives hitters a different look. Fastball up to 74 mph, gets on hitters quickly, shows good life down in the strike zone. Curveball has tight spin, rotation and good depth, flashes good downer action with occasional 12/6 shape. Good student.
