Matt Anderson is a 2017 C with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Bakersfield, CA who attends Liberty HS. Medium, athletic frame with a young and projectable build, lean with room to fill out with additional strength. Primary catcher, moves well behind the plate and receives the ball out front, comes out of crouch and gains some ground with lower half, short stride, full arm action and gets on top of throws, 1.94 best pop, arm strength will continue to develop, around second base with throws. Right-handed hitter, starts with an upright stance and a medium hand set. Upper body swing, uses hands and creates a line drive swing plane with a short barrel path to the ball. Gets the barrel through the zone, hands stay close to body, creates consistent contact and shows comfort hitting the middle and pull side parts of the field. Good student.
